Location: Peekskill, NY
We are currently looking for a Registered Nurse Supervisor for one of our facilities in Peekskill, NY. Candidates must provide medical oversight to clients participating in a Methadone Maintenance Treatment Program and provide support to Clinic Director by overseeing the medical components of the program.
Position Responsibilities:
- ensures dispensing of medication is in full compliance with all clinic policies, federal and state laws/regulations at all times
- recognize, treat, and report changes in methadone clients physical and emotional condition related to methadone maintenance
- serves as liaison between nursing, administration, clinical and medical staff
- assist in maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with all staff
- facilitates nursing staff schedules to provide adequate coverage necessary for a methadone clinic
- responsible for interviewing, hiring, orienting, evaluating, training and assessing competency of all nursing staff
- ensures patient care is provided in accordance with internal policy and procedures as well as external regulations
- maintains complete and accurate records, purchasing and dispensing of methadone while routinely interfacing with NYS OASAS/DEA regulatory agencies
- maintains adequate supplies of equipment and products needed to maintain clinic medications in the dispensing of methadone
- assist in planning and implementation of in-service education for permanent staff and patient knowledge
- develops and maintains a tracking system for pertinent data necessary for quality assurance indicators
- provide educational outreach to the community
- conduct medical assessments of clients for preventative measures and towards making recommendations to other health providers as needed
- assist clients with arranging physical examination appointments as needed to ensure optimum health
- provide oversight and guidance to staff attending to any medically involved clients
- obtain urine samples from clients routinely and prepare related paperwork for toxicology screening
- record medical data and observation reports in the client charts routinely
- facilitate meetings of health groups as applicable for clients in recovery towards enhancing their self-awareness and self-determination
Requirements:
- RN licensure required.
- Two years supervisory experience required
- two years prior experience working in a health related facility.
- prior experience working in the field of alcohol/substance abuse treatment preferred.
- prior counseling or teaching experience is required.
